An Educational Series for our members

The PCCA in conjunction with Firedancer Coffee Consultants are pleased to offer the following educational opportunities:

ONLINE FOREIGN SUPPLIER VERIFICATION PROGRAM (FSVP) This is for exporters, growers, importers and roasters doing direct trade. We will not only review the law and what you need to have in place, but the module will be spent reviewing templates and crating a mock FSVP plan together. The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) includes Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), which require companies to assess their foreign supply chain of food production and implement new programs to meet and achieve compliance. These programs must be implemented and ready for inspection under FDA FSMA enforcement by the compliance date. For many companies, that date was May 30, 2017. Class is delivered on-line with a live instructor; 7 modules in total, 12+ total hours. Offered in two formats, once a week, four weeks total, 3 hours each session, or over the course of two days.

We will cover the following topics:

  1. Context: Understanding where FSVP fits into FSMA and the FDA’s overall approach to food safety

  2. Overview of requirements: What do you have to do?

  3. Hazard analysis: The how, what and why for importers (and others) to handle something they do not control.

  4. Evaluation and approval of foreign suppliers: What does this look like?

  5. Foreign supplier verification:  The actual process and the need to re-certify.

  6. Importance of records: What needs to be kept, and good document control best practices.

  7. FDA oversight: How will they audit? What will they ask for?

DATES: July 28-29 two days, 9am-5pm CST

August 4, 11, 18, 25 3pm-6pm CST

COST: $895 - Discounted to $595 thru September 1, 2020

WEBINARS FOCUSED ON FOOD SAFETY AND REGULATIONS.

These are both developed for attendees to understand how various regulations may or many not affect them, all the terms and acronyms you'll need to understand and to help determine next steps.

FOOD SAFETY 101 (FSMA)

This webinar is focused on helping exporters, importers, storage and transport companies & coffee roasters understand how to achieve compliance with food safety rules & regulations; which includes Good manufacturing practices, Hazard Analysis, Preventive controls, recall plans and documentation. The focus is to answer two questions: Which of the regulations apply to me?  What are my next steps?

FSVP 101

The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) includes Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), which require companies to assess their foreign supply chain of food production and implement new programs to meet and achieve compliance. The focus is to answer two questions: Does this regulation apply to me?  What are my next steps?
